  • Type of Gynecomastia Surgery

Depending on one’s needs, men of all ages can benefit from two types of gynecomastia surgical procedures. For example, liposuction can be an effective option for a few, while others may need the gland removal surgery with or without liposuction for best results. IndiCure recommends you to explore the surgical options by consulting our expert plastic surgeons.

  • Anesthesia Costs

Another important factor that determines the cost of Gynecomastia Surgery in India is the anesthesia cost- whether the surgery is done in GA or local anesthesia. • Surgical Facility

Having your Gynecomastia Surgery in an accredited surgical facility by skilled and qualified medical staff is a critical factor. Moreover, the geographical location of this facility in India also affects the initial quote. But IndiCure provides you with a projected estimate that will be all inclusive and affordable.

  • Surgery-Related Expenses

The surgery-related expenses include the pre- and post-surgical expenses. The pre-surgical expenses are associated with the candidacy and the medical history of the patient. This includes the routine medical exams and tests to ensure you’re a good fit for gynecomastia surgery. Post-surgical expenses can include prescription medications, post-surgery compression garments, and follow-up consultations.

What is Gynecomastia Surgery?

Gynecomastia or Male breast or “woman-like breasts,” is a very common physical abnormality that occurs in men and sometimes it is also linked with obesity. Physically, it is just a flaw seen in the shape and appearance of the chest of average sized men. This can be simply treated with a procedure named gynecomastia surgery – also called breast reduction for men or commonly known as man boobs correction surgery.

It could be very embarrassing for men suffering from this condition, and could be linked to obesity, excessive medication, hormonal imbalance or as a lifestyle disorder.

Gynecomastia Surgery in India

Man boobs or female-like breasts can be a cause of great embarrassment for men in day-to-day life. A flabby chest is no man’s friend, especially when it comes to wearing a T-shirt. But, don’t be sad. Smile because there is a fix! No, it’s not a bra, it’s Gynecomastia Surgery! It is much easier to save yourself from the embarrassment by choosing gynecomastia surgery in India.

To get rid of man boobs, a large number of people travel abroad for affordable yet quality gynecomastia surgery. India is one of the leading destinations that provide gynecomastia surgery at state of the art hospitals and clinics at affordable prices. Every year, hundreds of thousands medical tourists travel abroad to avail quality gynecomastia surgery in India. Be it the cost of the treatment or expertise of surgeons or latest technology available in the hospitals, India has made a significant mark in providing the best of plastic surgery.

Gynecomastia is not a serious medical condition but the major disadvantage of having enlarged breasts is the embarrassment that negatively affects the health of an individual. Although many exercises are there to reduce gynecomastia such as chest press exercises or incline cable fly, these exercises put a lot of load on the chest when it comes to burn off excess chest fat. Gynecomastia surgery or male breast reduction surgery is the procedure of choice when other non surgical treatments have failed to lose excess bulge from the chest.

Am I a good Candidate?

If you have abnormal amounts of fatty tissue on your chest, and are uncomfortable with it, you are a good candidate for the gynecomastia surgery. You should be 18 or above, physically healthy and emotionally stable and should have realistic expectations from the procedure.

Types of Gynecomastia Surgery

Although there are other options to reduce gynecomastia such as exercise and medications, gynecomastia surgery or male breast reduction surgery is the procedure of choice when other non surgical treatments have failed to lose excess bulge from the chest.

It is the gold standard for gynecomastia treatment. Gynecomastia Surgery has two options:

Liposuction: It is a simple procedure to remove fat from the breast. This method does not leave much scarring since it requires a very small incision.

Mastectomy: A surgery to remove breast gland tissue. This method is performed alongside the liposuction technique since liposuction is unable to remove the mammary tissue development.

How is Gynecomastia Surgery done?

Step 1

The surgeon makes incisions at the appropriate places for the fat/ tissue to be removed.

Step 2

Empty tubes are placed in the opened incisions which melt the excess fat tissue. The fat is then sucked and ejected.

Step 3

If glandular tissue/ excess skin also needs to be reduced, bigger incisions are given, skin excised and incisions are closed with sutures.

What is the Recovery after Gynecomastia Surgery like?

Recovery after male breast reduction surgery is fairly quick. You are not supposed to take up activities that involve a lot of physical effort for a few days after the procedure. You can resume routine activities within three to seven days and sedentary work in about a week to ten days. Strenuous work should be avoided for at least four to six weeks. Heavy physical activity and exercising should be avoided for at least 6 to 8 weeks.

What Results Can I Expect from Gynecomastia Surgery?

Most men are pleased with the results achieved through the surgical correction. The results of the man boobs surgery are permanent, giving you a flat, firm and more masculine-looking chest.
