Factors that affect Tooth Crown Cost in India

  • Dental Surgeon’s Fees

An important expense when it comes to your dental treatment is going to be your dental surgeon’s fees. IndiCure recommends only experienced, skilled, board-certified surgeons who are capable of delivering natural-looking results. Although the cost may vary depending on the experience of the surgeon, the results will be amazing.

  • Material used

There are many different types of tooth materials that the dentist can use to make these crowns. Each type has its pros and cons and the type the dentist uses will depend on the needs of the patient. More often than not, opting for good quality material makes financial sense in the long-run rather than going in for a cheap material that will not last long. During your initial consultation, your dentist will help you decide which materials are an option based on your oral health, tooth concerns, and budget.

  • Number of Crowns

The more crowns you require, the higher the cost of your overall treatment will be. However, matching the texture and shade of your teeth is a difficult process, and many dentists offer a discount per unit if you are receiving multiple crowns at once.

  • Extent of Tooth Damage

The higher the level of decay or damage to your tooth, the higher the cost of your crown will be because of the preparation required prior to placing the crown. If you choose a tooth crown to repair damage after root canal therapy, the cost of your procedure will be higher because your dentist must first remove the infection from your tooth.

  • Dental Facility

Having your tooth crown treatment in an accredited dental facility by skilled and qualified medical staff is a critical factor. Moreover, the geographical location of this facility also affects the initial quote. But, IndiCure provides you with a projected estimate that will be affordable.

  • Additional Expenses

It is very rare for patients who want tooth crown treatment not to have other treatments done. When combined with other procedures such as gum disease treatment or tooth implants, the total cost of your rehabilitation will be higher.

What is Tooth Crown?

Tooth crowns or dental crowns are the caps that are placed on top of broken or decayed teeth. They are also used to cover the dental implant.
When fillings fail to correct the problem, crowns are used to preserve, cover, and restore the contour of your teeth. Metals, porcelain, resin, and ceramics are all options for dental crowns. They usually don’t require any extra attention over time, except from maintaining proper dental hygiene.

What are Dental Crowns?

Your teeth might get damaged over time. This can occur for a variety of causes, including dental decay, trauma, or regular use. Your teeth’s shape and size can deteriorate. Dental crowns are tooth-shaped “caps” that fit over your natural tooth. Consider it a snug cap for your teeth. The crown improves the shape, size, strength, and look of the tooth.

Am I a good Candidate?

You may be a candidate for tooth crowns,if you suffer from one or more of the following issues:

  • Broken, cracked, or fractured teeth
  • Large dental fillings
  • Root canal therapy
  • Tooth decay
  • Missing teeth
  • Cosmetic issues

Types of Tooth Crowns

There are different type of tooth crowns depending on the material they are made of:

Metal: Gold, palladium, nickel, and chromium are some of the metals that can be utilized in dental crowns. Metal crowns are the least likely to chip or shatter, last the longest in terms of wear, and need only a modest amount of tooth removal. They can also withstand biting and chewing forces.

The biggest disadvantage of this sort of crown is the shiny tint. Metal crowns are a fantastic option for molars that are hidden from view.

Porcelain-fused-to-metal: The color of the teeth next to the crown can be matched with this sort of dental crown. The hue of their teeth is more natural. However, the metal behind the porcelain cover of the crown occasionally peeks through as a dark line.

Other disadvantages include the possibility of the porcelain piece of the crown crumbling or falling off, as well as the crown wearing down the teeth opposite it in the mouth. The teeth that come into touch with the crown on the top and bottom of your mouth while it’s closed are particularly affected by this wear on the other teeth. For front or back teeth, porcelain-fused-to-metal dental crowns can be a viable option.

All-resin: Dental crowns composed of resin are less expensive than other types of crowns. However, unlike porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns, they deteriorate over time and are more likely to break.

All-ceramic or All-porcelain: When compared to other crown varieties, all-ceramic or all-porcelain dental crowns have the best natural color match. They’re also a fantastic option if you’re allergic to metals. They are not, however, as durable as porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns. They can also wear down the teeth on the opposite side of the mouth more than metal or resin crowns. For front teeth, all-ceramic crowns are a viable option.

Pressed Ceramic: Dental crowns made of pressed ceramic have a firm inner core. The metal liner used in the all-ceramic crown-making method is replaced with pressed ceramic dental crowns. Porcelain crowns are capped with pressed ceramic crowns for the greatest natural colour match. In addition, they survive longer than an all-porcelain crown.

How is Tooth Prepared for Dental Crown?

First Sitting: The first sitting involves reducing the tooth to accommodate the crown. Then measurements are taken with impressions. Temporary crown is made and placed on the tooth. The impressions are sent to the laboratory for crown fabrication.

Second Sitting: The second sitting involves fitting the new crown after removing the temporary crown. The permanent crown is cemented to the prepared tooth and adjustments are made accordingly.

Same- day Dental Crowns:

Our associate dental clinics in India do offer same-day dental crowns, if you are a good candidate for the procedure.

The procedure begins similarly to how a typical crown is constructed, with the removal of decay and shaping of the tooth to ensure a precise fit inside the crown. Following these stages, the crown is made in a new way.

A scanning equipment (a “wand”) is used to capture digital photographs of the tooth within your mouth during the same-day operation. From these images, the computer software generates a 3D model of the tooth. The digital design is then transported to another machine in the company, which carves the crown shape out of a block of ceramic.

Computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) is the process of creating a dental crown. The crown is ready to be fixed into place in less than 15 minutes.

What is the Recovery after Tooth Crown like?

Your newly crowned tooth may be sensitive immediately after the procedure. If you experience some heat and cold sensitivity. Your dentist may recommend that you brush teeth with toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth. Therefore, continue to follow good oral hygiene practices, including brushing your teeth at least twice a day, flossing daily.

What Results Can I Expect from Tooth Crown?

A well prepared and handled crown lasts anything between 10 to 15 years, some even more. Normal care like cleaning and flossing are necessary.
