Factors that affect Root Canal Treatment Cost in India

  • Dental Surgeon’s Fees

An important expense when it comes to your dental treatment is going to be your dental surgeon’s fees. IndiCure recommends only experienced, skilled, board-certified surgeons who are capable of delivering great results. Although the cost may vary depending on the experience of the surgeon, the results will be amazing.

  • Material used

There are many different types of tooth materials that the dentist can use for root canal treatment. Each has its pros and cons and the type of material the dentist uses will depend on the needs of the patient. More often than not, opting for good quality material makes financial sense in the long-run rather than going in for a cheap material that will not last long. During your initial consultation, your dentist will help you decide which materials are an option based on your oral health, tooth concerns, and budget.

  • Number of Teeth to be treated

More the number of teeth to be treated, the higher the cost of your overall treatment will be. Besides, the cost of the tooth crown will add to the overall cost of the treatment.

  • Extent of Tooth Damage

The higher the level of decay or damage to your tooth, the higher the cost of your treatment. If you choose a tooth crown to repair damage after root canal therapy, the cost of your procedure will be higher because your dentist must first remove the infection from your tooth.

  • Dental Facility

Having your tooth crown treatment in an accredited dental facility by skilled and qualified medical staff is a critical factor. Moreover, the geographical location of this facility also affects the initial quote. But, IndiCure provides you with a projected estimate that will be affordable.

  • Additional Expenses

Properly done RCT will last a lifetime with a proper crown accompanying it. Therefore, one would opt for a suitable dental crown. There are specific reasons and conditions for crown requirement such as after RCT, since the tooth is without nerve, and blood supply is brittle. Gross dental caries covering 2/3 of the crown portion of natural teeth are required. The more crowns you have to place, the higher the quote.

What is Root Canal Treatment?

Root Canal treatment in India, commonly known as RCT is an endodontic treatment in which the diseased or damaged pulp tissue at the centre of the tooth is removed and the space is filled and sealed, to remove infected tissue and prevent future infections. This procedure treats the infection of the blood or nerve supply of a tooth (called pulp) caused due to tooth decay or injury.

Root Canal treatment in India is an advanced version of RCT which is done through lasers, and helps the procedure to be completed in just one painless sitting, ensuring complete sterilization of infected root canals.

Disease causes leading to Root Canal Treatment:

Am I a good Candidate?

Cases where tooth can be retained even though caries were involved with the dental pulp, gross tooth destruction with pulp involvement and good bone support to the pulp involving tooth is the criteria for RCT.

How is Root Canal Treatment done?

Step 1: An x-ray of the entire tooth is called a periapical x-ray. Then a rubber dam is placed for isolation of the area. An opening is made directly above the pulp chamber to give access to it. Tiny instruments called files are used to remove diseased tissue and nerve manually or by slow speed rotary instruments.

Step 2: An x-ray is taken again to determine the root length. After making sure that the entire nerve is removed so that there is no re-infection or pain, the apex of the root is closed. The root canals are then cleaned and dried completely with absorbent paper points.

Step 3: Gutta Percha points are used to fill and seal the tooth roots. Any remnant caries are removed and a temporary filling or permanent filling is done. A crown is later placed on this RCT tooth since it becomes brittle with time due to lack of blood and nerve supply.

What is the Recovery after Root Canal Treatment like?

There is a possibility of mild pain or discomfort which can be relieved by painkillers. Antibiotics are given to prevent uneventful healing without infections.

What Results Can I Expect from Root Canal Treatment?

RCT helps you maintain your natural smile, continue eating the foods you love and limits the need for ongoing dental work. With proper care, most teeth that have had root canal treatment can last a lifetime.
