What is Endometriosis Surgery?

How is Endometriosis Surgery done?
Laparoscopy Surgery:
Depending on the severity of your case, this procedure could take anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours.
Step 1: You will be given general anesthesia and sleeping medicine. A small cut will be made in your belly button or another portion of your abdomen by your doctor.
Step 2: They’ll use gas to enlarge your stomach so the camera can see everything well. Through that cut, the laparoscope will be inserted. Your doctor may need to make further minor cuts for different instruments.

Laparotomy Surgery:

Step 1: You’ll be given sleeping medication. Your doctor will make a cut through your skin and muscle to gain access to your abdomen and remove the afflicted tissue.
Step 2: Your doctor will close the incision and move you to a recovery area after the surgery.
Hysterectomy
If your symptoms persist despite previous therapies and you have no plans to have children in the future, your doctor may consider a hysterectomy.
