Dr. Parakh is an authority in the fields of peripheral vascular and endovascular sciences. He serves as chairman of Medanta, the Medical City, Gurgaon. He is known to have established one of the first autonomous vascular surgery departments in the nation at a corporate hospital in India. He is an expert at vascular trauma, Carotid surgery, Endovascular interventions, endovascular repair of aneurysms, below-the-knee angioplasty, and peripheral vascular and endovascular surgery expertise.

Dr. Rajiv Parakh did his MBBS and MD degrees from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi. He then received an FRCS in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in the United Kingdom.

Dr Parakh is known for many firsts and holding various prestigious positions in the field. He has served as the chairperson of National Board of Examiners’ teaching programme. He is the founder and founding member of Vascular Society of India (VSI) from 1997. He is also the founder of the India Endovascular Intervention Society (EISI) and a member of European Society of Vascular Surgery (ESVS). He has also served as the chairman of the 13th Annual Conference of the Vascular Society of India in 2013, which was attended by the editor of the European Journal of Vascular Surgery and the president and treasurer of the Vascular Society of Great Britain. In 2008, he also participated in the Delhi Medical Association’s Prof. Hari Vaishnava Oration.
