Dr. A.K. Kriplani is a well-known surgeon in India who specializes in laparoscopic, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. With over 33 years of experience, he was one of the first few surgeons in India to introduce laparoscopic surgery and to advance it to the next level. In India, he was the first to do laparoscopic adrenalectomy, splenectomy, and live donor nephrectomy for kidney transplantation.

Many international accolades and honors have been bestowed upon him, including the famous Dr. S.R. Joglekar Award and the Dr. N. Sethuraman Oration. He has taught laparoscopic surgery to hundreds of surgeons from India and neighboring nations such as Nepal, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
