Dr. Lalit Verma is a very senior and a well-known eye doctor in India with over 40 years of experience in the field. He did his MBBS and MS from the illustrious All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He then received the WHO fellowship in the USA for vitreo retina in 1993.
Dr. Verma has contributed to the advancement of therapies for retinal diseases, including intravitreal injections, vitreo-retinal surgery, age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), and laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy. He is particularly well-known for his efforts to the fight against endophthalmitis-related blindness.
Dr. Verma has given more than 700 lectures, keynote addresses, and speeches in national and international conferences. He has also planned yearly AIOS conferences. Besides, he has won more than 46 awards for his contribution in the field of medicine. In addition to writing 45 textbook chapters and books on fluorescein angiography and intravitreal injections, he has published 172 publications in national and international journals. He is currently the All India Ophthalmological Society’s Vice President (AIOS).
