With more than 26 years of experience, Dr. Santosh G. Honavar has a wide range of expertise in ophthalmology, including ocular oncology and ophthalmic, cosmetic operations. He specializes in retinoblastoma, eye plastic surgery, and eye prosthetics. He also treats tumors of the orbit, eyelid, eye, and ocular surface.

Dr. Honavar has also received a number of honorable awards. Dr. Honavar has written numerous book chapters and published more than 150 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the All India Ophthalmological Society, the Oculoplastics Association of India (OPAI), the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery, the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Oncology and Pathology, and the International Society of Ocular Oncology, among other medical organizations.

After earning his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College in 1987, Dr. Honavar went on to earn his MD from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi in 1992. He completed his residency in surgery in 2002 at the American College of Surgeons.

He is on the International Council of Ophthalmology’s advisory board. In addition, he serves as vice president of the Asia Pacific Society for Ocular Oncology and Pathology and secretary of the Indian Oculoplastic Association.
